Getting his start with local legend Shawan Rice (Shawan and the Wonton) in 2013, Turby quickly became a sought after guitarist in the Harrisburg area. Performing with the band Humandala until early 2017, Turby decided to take a break from performance and follow his interests in live audio engineering at The River City Blues Club in Harrisburg. After a year of hiatus, Turby is more than ready to get back on stage.
From huge guitar swells to subtle accents, Turby’s presence will undoubtedly take you beyond the music.
Born and raised in New England, this guitar player-turned-bassist got his start playing jazz in 2010. Since then Sam has participated in a variety of projects spanning genres like classic metal, country, funk, reggae, punk, psychedelic, hip hop, jam bands, blues, and more. This has caused Sam's personal bass style to evolve into a hybrid most heavily influenced by aggressive slap bass and smooth reggae/hip hop style, resulting in anything but a typical low-end experience.
